In November last year we published Considering Merata Mita's Legacy by Chloe Cull, as part of the Love Feminisms edition of the Enjoy Occasional Journal.
So we were excited to hear that Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision have recently restored Merata Mita's film Bastion Point - Day 507 (1980). The restored documentary was screened at a very special event this week, for Ngāti Whātua at Ōrākei marae.
Read more about the restoration and the significance of the documentary in this wonderful post on their website.
