Please join us for the launch of Assay/Essay: Artist-run in Aotearoa New Zealand, edited by Gabrielle Amodeo.
"The idea was simple: a publication looking at artist-run spaces in Aotearoa New Zealand. And even in that first statement, just in the words I used, the complexity of the territory began to reveal itself."
With contributions from founders, trustees, curators and observers of artist-runs, Assay/Essay teases out some of the rich area that comprises New Zealand's past and present artist-run activity, showcasing how invaluable artist-runs are to art in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Featuring contributions from Karl Bayly (PILOT), Emma Bugden, Lauren Gutsell (Blue Oyster Art Project Space), Robbie Fraser (FERARI), Yolunda Hickman, Keir Leslie, K. Emma Ng (Enjoy Public Art Gallery), Grace Ryder (North Projects), Daphne Simons (Canapé Canopy), Dog Park Art Project Space and North Projects.
The publication will be available to purchase at the launch for $20.
Cash sales only.
