Join us on Saturday 29 November at 4.30pm to celebrate the launch of Al-Rifaq Translations’ new book, Of Weapons and Words, a collection of six translated essays in print for the first time. 

Of Weapons and Words brings together political commentary and analysis that offers a thought-provoking vision of Palestine and the wider region, and responds to the martyred Palestinian writer Basel Al-Araj’s call: “Keep Palestine firmly within your sight."

The collection features: Mousa Alsadah, Vivian Aqiqi, Abaher El-Sakka, Mudar Kassis, Nidal Khalaf, Lena Meari, Amer Mohsen, Abdaljawad Omar, and Sari Orabi with translations by Rouqaya Alkhateeb, Mohammed Elabadsa, Shadi Hamada, and Alaa Salaymeh.

Al-Rifaq is a collective based in Pōneke Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand dedicated to political education and analysis. We translate Arabic texts to connect readers of English to the work of Palestinian and Arab writers and intellectuals, which are published fortnightly online at alrifaq.substack.com.
