Tāmaki Makaurau Publication Launch: Wishing Well // Ma'u Pe Kai
Friday 4 Oct 2019
6:00pm
Join us at Strange Goods (281 Karangahape Road, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland) from 6 pm on Friday 4th October to celebrate the launch of our new publication Wishing Well // Ma‘u Pe Kai.
Published alongside solo exhibitions by Wai Ching Chan and Matavai Taulangau, this two-part publication includes contributions from Arapeta Ashton, Simone Kaho, Hēmi Kelly, Vea Mafile’o, John Vea and Kirsten Wong.
Chan and Taulangau’s projects mark the first time Enjoy has been able to programme two solo shows concurrently. Accordingly, the publication unfolds as two sets of responses, developed separately, but anchored, like both Chan’s and Taulangau’s projects, in questions surrounding migration, labour, cultural identity and its continuity.
Wishing Well // Ma‘u Pe Kai is edited by Simon Gennard and has been designed by emerging Pōneke-based designer Alfred Hoi.
Copies of the publication will be available from Strange Haven for $20.
Following the launch, the publication will also be available for purchase from Enjoy, and from our online store.
