What are your pronouns?
I go by they/them
Where are you living/working right now?
I’m currently living in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. I was born here and have lived here almost all my life. I always want to be based in Aotearoa and part of the beautiful community here.
What do you do and why do you do it?
I build speculative ecosystems. My work explores the intersections of identity, posthumanism, technology, and ecology — looking at their tangled pasts and imagined futures.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’ve just finished making 300 beeswax mushrooms for Out of the Scene, into the Fever. It was a mammoth effort, so I’m taking a short break before starting a residency in Portugal.
What do you love about art?
Being able to walk around an art gallery and see a myriad of human experiences sprawled out along its walls. Contributing to a creative community and seeing the growth of myself and the artists around.
What are you reading/listening to/watching at the moment?
I’m writing this from a hotel room in Brisbane — last night I watched Picnic at Hanging Rock, and I think it’s my new favourite Australian film. I have bought Theatre Country by Geoff Park for my flight to Portugal and have downloaded Monolake - Hong Kong to listen to.
Who is your art crush?
