Join us on Wednesday 10th May, 5pm- 8pm, for a workshop facilitated by 5ever books in collaboration with Kikuchi University (Kumamoto, Japan) and Enjoy.

As a part of the upcoming exhibition Mirai Nikki (Future Diary), a pair of collaborative art workshops are being hosted in Aotearoa and Japan in May 2023 by 5ever Books, where participants are invited to collectively think into the future using art making as a tool for divination and play.

Using all means of mark making on paper, participants will add to an 'exquisite corpse' chain of possibility: at the centre, an open-ended sculptural artefact of self-realising prophecies will emerge, akin to our capacity for collective world-making.

Outcomes from this workshop will be shared in the exhibition Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) opening at Enjoy on May 31.

All welcome, stay for as short or as long as you like.
As with all our events at Enjoy, this workshop is free to attend.

Outcomes from this workshop will be shared in the exhibition Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) opening at Camp Gallery, Kumamoto, Japan with Kikuchi University. In turn, Enjoy will share outcomes from the Japan-based workshop in our sister exhibition opening Wednesday 31 May.

All welcome, free entry, stay for as short of as long as you like.

5ever books

'5ever is an underground publishing house based at Rebel Press, Trades Hall in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. We print, splice, bind and chop pesky dank little books. Our scope is nebulous. Form and sense of disciplinarity remains plural. But our target is clear: to publish punchy, intense and interdisciplinary work, woven together by a shared transformational kaupapa. We recognise the collective necessity of actively infiltrating and affecting our playground and home, Wellington. As we balance our vision with pragmatism, we are committed to realising a post-capitalist vision that honours Te Tiriti O  Waitangi in Aotearoa. We are serious in our playfulness.'
